May Plant Sales Not to Miss

It seems like almost every day there is a new plant sale being held during the month of May. But oveay! It hailed four times just this past Wednesday! My seeds are still starting to push in the greenhouse, but I have gaps from the winter that need filled. You might run into me at one of these upcoming events.

Glenn Walters Annual Spring Plant Sale

Don’t miss this fabulous plant sale! I used to work at this nursery so I know it’s a good one. If you are searching for basic landscape material to fill in the gaps left by our cold, wet winter you can’t go wrong with azaleas, boxwoods, conifers, trees and more that will be offered at below wholesale prices.

Multnomah Garden Club Plant Sale
Saturday, May 15, 2010, 10am – 3pm
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3405 SW Alice Street, Portland
The Multnomah Garden Club will hold its first ever plant sale for the public. Reasonably priced plants can be found for your garden from
experienced gardeners in the area. Perennials, annuals and more will be for sale. Didn’t start those tomatoes yet? Don’t worry, you can find starts at the sale. Even interesting garden art and cedar planters will be available. Cash only.
Jim’s Annual Plant Sale
Saturday, May 15 and Saturday, May 22 10am – 4pm

I have tried to go to this two years in a row and haven’t been able to make it. I’m crossing fingers I can get to it this year as it’s supposed to be a good one. Jim opens his backyard to one and all in May only. Interesting annuals, perennials and more await eager gardeners.
Rare Plant Research Open House
Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16 11am – 4pm
11900 South Criteser Rd, Oregon City, OR 97045
This exotic tropical growing specialty nursery is only open to the public once a year. The Jardin Villa Catalana showcases the plants that Burl and his wife grown in ten greenhouses located on the property. Lunch, wine tasting and garden tours are available. Three other nurseries on Criteser Road will also be open. This is not to miss if you are into hardy bananas, lewisia and more!
